in this week's toffey talk episode, we show you how to apply a half & half gel polish manicure thanks to our lovely follower lara.
this killer technique is a little cutting edge and will really get some attention as you enter your PIN code in your favourite boutique.
don't forget to send them our way after all the compliments you receive. but enough with the flattery, here's how you do it!
what you will need
- LED or UV lamp
- 1 x favourite gel polish as your half and half colour (in this video we use lime sherbert)
- base coat
- top coat
- nail file
- nail stripping tape (or sticky tape, or free hand)
- alcohol wipe or acetone
- apply a thin layer of toffey base coat, try not to get too close to your skin as the led lamp will spread the polish for you.
- cure for 30 seconds using toffey’s led lamp
- apply the stripping tape to each of your nails
- apply the 1st thin coat of your chosen toffey gel polish colour, remember not too close to your skin. we have used lime sherbert.
- cure for 60 seconds
- apply 2nd thin coat of your chosen toffey gel polish colour
- cure for 60 seconds (please note- some light colours may require three coats for even and dark coverage)
- remove the stripping tape to reveal a definitive half and half manicure
- apply a thin coat of toffey top coat and place on some diamontes if you like and then cure for 90 seconds
- your curing is complete, now you must remove the sticky residue off the nail surface and add some toffey shine. use toffey alcohol wipes or acetone and gently wipe over each nail. then wash your hands in cold water.
your toffey half and half manicure is complete for you to show all of your girlfriends and to post on instagram (@toffeygelpolish).
